My wife and have dined here twice. Both experiences were absolutely exceptional. Food quality was perfect. Chef really does a good job of layering flavors and textures to create the perfect profiles. Plate presentations are amongst the best I have ever seen. Service was friendly, informative and pleasant. Every employee seems very happy to be working there. MUST try the Dragonfire Shrimp appetizer. It's a perfect tempura, with a really cool presentation. This has become our favorite restaurant in the burbs.

This was our third visit to Sterlings. It was the BEST. My wife was looking for crab cakes, but they were only an appetizer. Damian our waiter said it used to be an entry. One trip to the kitchen and he came back to offer it to us with double the portion, adding rice and veggies. I ordered the Paella. Her crab cakes were quite good, incorporating crab, shrimp, and cod (Fish cakes?). My Paella was very good too, with tons of seafood. I think there was 4 scallops, 4 mussels, 4-5 shrimp, some andouille sausage And slivers of checked breast in a tasty sauce. We started with the Dragonfire shrimp which was excellent. A couple glasses of wine and we spent $90 for dinner, but the food and service were Great! This is our go to restaurant.

Really quite fantastic. I went with some girls to catch up over drinks and food. I ordered an extra dirty martini and it was perfect. Absolutely great. The waiter came back after i ordered it, very excited to let me know blue cheese olives were available, but i stuck to the basic. I actually ended up having 2. Worth every penny. I ordered the prime rib which came with mashed potatoes and broccoli. The prime rib was perfect. I order med rare and i like it pink- not bloody. It was. I ate every bit. They lost one star because the potatoes and broccoli werent very warm. Still tastey- but the temp was off. Ill go here again. In fact i nearly did tonight!

We stopped in for a few refreshments after shopping and stumbled on Happy Hour. This made us very happy because they had such fantastic specials! Nearly all drinks were half off... That included all cocktails, beer, and select wines. Martinis were six bucks as well as a nice selection of bar bites and sushi. Awesome! We started with Meatball Lollipops which were delicious! The California Rill was scrumptious and hit the spot. We weren't too crazy about the Bleu Chips... The sweet balsamic onions overpowered the blue cheese. But we had a bread basket with pomodoro sauce and the bread was so tasty! I could have eaten a whole loaf! My vodka tonic was served in a large, generous glass which I've found is getting more scarce these days. I enjoyed it thoroughly! The service was great... Friendly, informative. We were asked right off the bat if we wanted to sit in the bar for happy hour. What a nice gesture. We received everything promptly and our server really took good care of us. Overall, a really nice stop along our busy day!

The service here is great, the atmosphere is very nice (mood lighting and all the good stuff), there is a bar, there is a nice selection of drinks. The food is a bit pricy ($15-30 range). For this price I expected really really good food. I got the lamb burger and it was ok. I liked it but it wasn't the best burger I had nor was it extremely memorable. However this place was still a good experience. Perfect for a group dinner or a date. It's not too fancy but I saw a couple of groups dressed up. I suggest coming here and trying something in their seafood or steak selection.

Very good fish tacos and sushi was good. Martini'a were somewhat light and frothy which I don't like but food was good. Two people I was with and I rated this a 4. Bill was about $50 pp.

Prime rib was not good. Others who wanted prime rib were not able to get it due to availability. Service was not good, but it got better as they got less busy. Homemade Cheesecake apparently is store bought.

2/3 of bartenders have always been really nice. One time I went there though, the service bartender made a margarita and put celery salt on rim. She knew she did this, acknowledged it by saying "oh I put the wrong salt", and continued on making other drinks. For a moment, I thought she was remaking the drink, but no, never did. Just let us drink the celery salt margarita. Didn't apologize, offer a drink, take it off bill. It was kind of weird actually. If I was a bartender, which I have been in the past, I would have immediately taken the drink and tossed it and made a fresh one. Obviously she was young and inexperienced in the realm of fine dining and customer service; it is what it is. You learn as you go. Food has been ok. Some things are good, some are not. I've liked the sushi and the bread they give you with hummous is amazing. Great caesar dressing! Liked the steak bites. Variety of stuffed olives for drinks is fun! Half off wine night (up to $30 discount) is great on Wed! Not so good: chicken cutlet sandwich, scampi pasta was ALL oil (and not even good olive oil) and all lemon. Don't get me wrong, I love lemon, but this was way too much. Chicken was dry. Do not get the cheese plate if you are expecting actual fresh cheese. The brie was ok but if I recall correctly, everything was fried cheese.

Two of us came here for dinner yesterday. We waited at the hostess stand for about 5 minutes before being greeted as servers walked by and looked at us. We were offered a table or a short wait for a booth we opted for the booth. We had a sushi roll as an appetizer which was lackluster. French onion soup shortly followed which was super salty. And for dinner we split the chicken picatta which was horrible the ginger sauce made it inedible. Plus $10 glass of wine along with $17 for two bacardis and diets. Big thumbs down.

We came here the other day, and we loved it! We ordered the meatball lollipops, crab cake, salted carameltini, and the sterling martini, all of which were delicious. You should expect to pay a bit more, but hey! It's worth it in my opinion. Our food came out in timely matter and our waiter was attentive. All in all, we would return. :)

Enjoy the atmosphere and service. Not extensive menu but diverse and food has been excellent each time. Great wine selection and beers on tap. Cocktails unique.

This place is always pretty good and have a great happy hour! Some of the things I usually order here are: dragon fire shrimp- think bang bang shrimp but a little sweeter with a thicker batter Miso roasted Chilean sea bass- the fish itself is truly worth the trip alone! Super buttery, flaky and moist. Flavors of the fish are spot on! The jasmine rice and the sauce are a little bland though. Prime rib- if you want it medium you'll most likely have to send it back for it to be cooked a little longer. Their ovens that are set to specific temps (ex rare, medium, well ect) are off and always come out under done. They have a great happy hour menu. I'd recommend them :)

I made reservations a week in advance for a Saturday night thinking this place would be jam packed. Walked in and there was hardly anyone there. My fiancé ordered a beer and I had a glass of wine. We ordered the dragonfire shrimp app, diver scallops, and the surf & turf. The dragonfire shrimp app is the only reason we would ever come back. The scallops were a little over cooked and hard to chew, and the risotto was basically just white rice. Neither of our dinners were anything special, and for the price we were a little disappointed. I definitely won't rush back, which is sad because I feel like there are not a lot of nice sit down places near Lakeside Mall that we can go for date night.

Went here tonight with a group of friends after a wine tasting in Clinton Twp. I knew beforehand that the menu was a bit expensive ($12-26 for entrees, $26 being like their steaks) and I was going to get a $10 flatbread, but the pasta primavera looked pretty good ($15, +$4 for chicken). It was actually huge so be prepared for leftovers. The ambience was nice too (a little bit dark inside) but it was about half empty on a Saturday night, which surprised me. Not sure if there are so many choices nearby or if they are usually that empty or what. Service was very good and I love that they give water carafes on the table - I drink a lot of water so it's nice to be able to have a refill whenever I want. I'd come back here again when in the area, maybe for happy hour - they seem to have some good deals.

That dreadful cheeseburger place next door is no longer in business. The parking lot used to be filled with average automobiles. Kid you not... I actually had to park my Lexus next to a Ford Escort. Sterling Bistro installed a revolving door just to make the locals feel important, but I already am. And how about that Cheeseburger! Wonderful!

We don't get out this way much, but this is very close to the MacComb Center for the Performing Arts and so we gave it a try - SO glad we did! We liked to dark wood and soothing ambiance. Martini's were perfectly dry and dirty and the food was great! For apps we tried the wild mushroom sauté - the truffle oil was not overwhelming and the meatball lollipops - so good. After reading other yelper's reviews, I had to try to the Chilean Sea bass - wow! I would have a hard time not ordering that when we come back - makes my mouth water just thinking about it! My husband likes his filet VERY rare, but most places still over cook - NOT Sterling's - so he was a happy camper! He also said the flavor and texture of the meat was perfect. We will be back!

Went here for dinner on a Friday night. It was my 4th time here. I decided to try the sea bass, which is supposed to be their best dish. I took a bite and it tasted a bit like chemicals, almost like bleach. Took a few more bites and realized it shouldn't taste this way. Informed the waiter and he commented on how much I had ate already. I never complain about my food unless it's inedible, which in this case, it was. He asked if I wanted anything else and offered a tilapia dish. I came home and did some research and realized the fish tasted like ammonia!! They served me spoiled fish! This is unacceptable and I will not be going back. However, props to the waiter who made an effort to resolve the situation.

I finally was able to go back to try some food and happened to do it on my birthday! The staff was friendly and accommodating, and the drink specials were in full force until 6:30. Why yes, I will take a tall pour of wine for $4, thank you! To start the meal some bread bites and warm marinara sauce came out. Honestly, it's probably the worst part of the dinner. They'd do much better with herbed olive oil or something. I decided to get the Chilean Sea Bass and my man got the Prime Rib. It came out in a decent time and was cooked exactly to order. The plates were elegantly presented and very clean. My fish was seared perfectly and flaked apart as fish should. The scallion and lemongrass cream sauce was delicious and a fun colorful green. I also enjoyed the sticky rice underneath the fish as it had absorbed a lot of flavor from the sauce and the fish. All in all, a great plate. My man's prime rib was...incredible. It was herby, juicy, and had a good ratio of fat to meat as well as a flavorful jus to dip in. The fingerling potatoes and seasoned vegetables that came with it were crispy and perfectly cooked. We finished off the meal with a raspberry crème brulee, which honestly, was disappointing. We only had a spoon or two each and decided it wasn't worth it. I was extremely excited to learn that on your birthday if you present ID you get a prime rib or a catch of the day for free. What a deal! I think this may be the best fine dining in the area.

Went in on Sat night at 9pm, not busy at all, sat at the bar thinking we could get better service. So wrong on that note. The bartender obviously wanted to go home, doing cleaning and stocking etc. We had to ask for drinks and to order food, which myself being a waitress is my biggest pet peeve! Please do your job, whatever time it is....the food was good, however, I doubt we will return. It really is not rocket science....good service equals good money!

Third time was the charm. We ate here early on, shortly after they were open. Not bad, but they didn't really wow us with anything. Last night, Friday at 6:30, we were seated promptly, always a good start. Our waitress was very nice and attentive without hovering. We liked the wine selection and the shrimp appetizer. My wife loved her wedge salad, she said it was compatible to Ruth Cris. Very high praise coming from her. The lobster bisque was the only downside for me. It was below average and I didn't finish it. Prime rib was excellent, as was my surf and turf with the scallops and braised short ribs. The dessert selection didn't have any of our favorites, but since the dinner potions were generous, we didn't feel like it anyway. We will be back.

Overpriced, but definitely worth it. Great menu and the presentation of everything is almost like fine dining. Mediocre service and long ticket times, though. Its a classy joint... a place to take a date for Happy Hour/dinner and then hit up a movie or whatever. Share a Spicy Tuna sushi roll and the Prime Rib sliders with a couple of craft beers and you're off to a good start to your evening.

Let me just say that their Happy Hour deals are AMAZING!!! Lots of apps are half off. I would recommend the spicy tuna sushi, the meatball "lollipops" topped off with a gin & tonic w/a generous amount of gin. The seared scallops entree is very good, my fiancé and I usually BOTH order it because we like it so much. Oh, and the roasted Brussels sprouts are pretty good too!

Had a very nice birthday dinner here recently with my husband. It's right near our house and we've always been meaning to try it out. 1) Ambiance - dim lighting doesn't always cut it, for a nice-r restaurant like this one, the one big open square room doesn't provide the kind of intimacy and seclusion one would desire, but this is the only reason why they lack a 5 star review. 2) Service - was excellent! Our waitress was very attentive, polite and made several insightful suggestions, after getting to know her patrons. 3) Drinks - nice heavy pours of whisky for husband and strong soury dirty martini for me. Enjoyed each sip with their complimentary bread basket and homemade marinara dip - i know what you're thinking... "marinara? that's it?" no, this marinara is divine! 4) Food - Prime ribs (which were a buy one get one deal if you are going on the day of your birthday - sweet!) were cooked to order, they were juicy, tender and delicious with a nice peppercorn bark around the rim. The potato of the day was a smashing spinach smashed variety, and the green beans were cooked to perfection. 5) Dessert - was a chocolaty chocolate mousse cake mmmm - it was so rich and heavenly. Had a great experience here, and would definitely come back. Maybe next time, we'll do the happy hour that's from open to 6:30pm - half off drinks and apps!

Went to the bar that was half full it took over 10 minutes to place my drink order. I decided to eat at the bar to watch the game. It's my fault because if it took 10 minutes for a drink guess how long it took to place my food order. I will say the house salad was good and the prime tube was above average not to salty not to smokey but the raw I ordered came out medium rare. If you look at my reviews they are fair and honest. If service would have been better I probably would have given it a four star

I did not know what to expect, but I know I didn't expect to drop the coin I did, the wine cost more for two glasses then 2 bottles. The bread and marinara sauce was so so, definitely not as good as some chain restaurants. The rib eye was not Cajun and did not seem to even have the fat cooked. My wife's plate took an extra 5 minutes to come out from the kitchen. water glasses stayed empty for the much of the evening. Not impressed and overpriced. I also felt this was a place of regulars, so I guess that would justify the good ratings over all. I know why I never heard of this place prior as being a great place for a good meal. Sorry I usually don't give bad reviews but couldn't help my self here.

Shout out to Ron C. for suggesting this spot! My wife and I enjoyed dinner here to celebrate her birthday. Pro saver tip: ON THE DAY of your birthday with valid ID, you can get a free entree as long as there is the purchase of another entree of equal or greater value. The catch is that the free entree can only be either their standard size signature prime rib meal, or the fish (catch of the day) dinner. This worked out well for us because we both wanted their prime rib dinner anyway. The free meal amounted to around an $18 savings. Generous birthday deal if you ask me! First of all, the service and ambiance here is great. Nice dim lighting in a space that feels both modern and hometown at the same time. Our waitress was very friendly and accommodating. However, if you want a booth, try to phone ahead for reservations, because it seems 80% of the seating is table-chair & at the bar, with limited booths along a few walls. For big groups there is a neat circular table with stool chairs all around it. That would be a nice choice for a reserved birthday or large group dinner. My wife and I began with the complimentary breads and dip (creamy butter and marinara sauce). These breads had a tasty crust and fluffy soft inside. Good enough to whet the appetite while saving room for dinner. My 2 house whiskey (Jim Beam) pours were VERY generous. I mean it is like I got 4 drinks for the price of 2. Your mileage may vary. And when I said "just a splash of club soda," it really was just a drizzle. My wife's dirty martini was missing the olive juice needed to make it "dirty," but they promptly corrected that and brought it back out. On to the prime rib dinner. Both came out perfectly medium-rare. In my opinion the standard cut is more than large enough for a hungry man, especially if you've had some bread to start. The prime rib had a nice peppercorn-herb crust, which seems to be its claim to fame. It was like the prime rib has a tasty bark to it. In my opinion the crust almost bordered on salty, but still was within tolerable limits. In their defense, I tend to use less salt than most. The cut of meat was a nice red tone, tender and cut easy, and had the right ratio of fat to meat. So for all you beefeaters seeking savory prime rib with the right silver lining of fatty goodness - I believe you will appreciate it here. The spinach mashed potatoes were the "potato of the day." It was either that or a rice pilaf, and you know I need my meat and potatoes. Presumably, they make large amounts of daily sides, soups, etc. to save time and cost perhaps. We are not picky with our starch so it was fine for us, but the extra cost on a different potato could be a turn off for some. There was also a nice garlicy, buttery asparagus to add green to the kingly feast. We wrapped the meal up with a most delectable chocolate mousse type of concoction. It was very good and rich. So much that we shared it and still boxed a 1/3 of it for home. Late night sweet tooth attack. Overall, I really liked Sterling Bistro. I can only attest to the atmosphere, the service, the prime rib, and the generous pours I got on my drinks. I am in no hurry to return, and admittedly the free birthday entree motivated me to try the place, but I am happy with our dining experience here. If you are a seeker of juicy, flavorful prime rib in the area, this place is a must-try at least once!

It has been a long time since Bonefish Grill closed, but I think Sterling's is a worthy replacement. For an an appetizer I had the unique fried brussel sprouts. The Ahi tuna pizza as an entree was just excellent. I highly recommend to fish lovers. The salmon and ahi tuna salad was said to be excellent. The ample happy hours are the best around and happy hour with decent wine (a Pinot Noir) is very unique. The salted caramel martini was said to be excellent. The waitress did a great job. Enjoy!

They no longer have the Pretzel Crusted fish. So I got the fisherman's platter - the shrimp & mahi mahi were fabulous. The crab cakes were meh- didn't finish them. The meal came with a good size piece if pineapple that went oh so well with everything!

Great place! Went for the first time tonight. Group of five, one of which was a 2 year old. Food was excellent. I had a rare filet mignon, oscar style. My husbands scallops were delicious. My 2 year old niece got a children's size prime rib for $6!! The fried brussel sprouts as a starter were great. My brother said the beer was really cold! Cannot say enough good things about our dining experience. Will definitely go back!!!

Popped in for a bite of fish on Friday. Trout was the special so I decided to try it. I ordered a 6 oz glass of Seaglass sauvignon blanc, it was good but I thought the price was a bit high at $9.00 - but it did pair very well with the trout. I noticed that the meat on the trout was reddish in color. It was absolutely delicious! Rock star delicious! I wondered what I was really eating because I have never had trout that tasted this way or was red. The waitress didn't know why the meat was red so she had the manager come over. The manager explained that it was 'ruby red trout'. Ah ha...loved it. The meat was really tender and thicker than a normal trout meat. The sauce on top was perfect for the way the fish was cooked and for the type of fish being served. I know I had sides but can't remember what they were as I was so caught up in this excellent fish. I'm not even a huge fish fan, I am a steak fan so I know they outdid themselves with this new special on the menu.

Thanx to all my Yelper friends (especially Ron C.), I finally visited this eating establishment. I ordered a blackened Rib-eye steak and it was superb! Tried to get in last Friday night and they had a one hour wait for a table. Tried again the other night (during the week) and it wasn't even half-full. Prices were what I was expecting ..... service was excellent. Lighting was low, a little lower than my preference. All in all, a great dining experience.

Decided to go to Sterlings on a Thursday after shopping with my girlfriend at the mall. The food was delicious and our server, whose name escapes me (Fernanda??? attractive, dark haired woman with an accent) was friendly and attentive. The drinks come in cool tall, interesting glasses. The regular prices are "eh, reasonable", though I did wish they had a few entrees on the menu that were a little less only because my girlfriend who came with me is a little more budget-y than I. However, the BEST thing ever happened - our waitress told us that Thursday was Ladies Night and all of our entrees were half off. We seriously had to ask her three times if we heard her right - and we had. I think she got a bistro prime rib for about $9. I chose the lobster-oscar bistro filet which normally was $36 became $18. How can you BEAT THAT???? Seriously, you can't. While I enjoyed Sterlings, if I want a steak dinner, I can find other places to eat (though maybe not in the general area)... but if it's Thursday, I'll be going there. And I mean that - I *WILL* be going there. Can't wait to tell all my girlfriends about my new best kept secret. If you are looking for well-prepared food in a casual environment, Sterlings does stand out as something different in the area. Check it out. Edited to add: I wanted to note that it looks like Ladies Night ends after September. I'm sure they'll bring it back another time - at least I hope. So I recommend all ladies go tomorrow! I really wish I wasn't fighting a cold or I would!

Very Disappointed. Ordered the fish tacos. They were lukewarm at best. Waitress was pleasant enough and offered to bring more. They were no better and undercooked. My friends were not impressed with their meals either. One had a Cobb Salad (no blue cheese dressing?!) the other had the Filet. Would not go back. Mediocre at best.

How would you feel if you decided to try out a restaurant and the following scenario unfolded. The glass of wine you selected was $7.00 and the glass your wife ordered was $8.50, but when you received the bill the $7.00 wine was $10.50 and the $8.50 was$12.00? Nowhere on the menu was anything listed for these higher prices. What if you asked to substitute a gluten containing menu item (crab-cake) for a scallop...and you received an up charge of $6.00, without being informed about any up-charges for the wine or the substitution. This happened tonight at Sterling Bistro. We will not be returning to Sterling Bistro in Lakeside Circle. Judging from how empty the restaurant was, perhaps we aren't the only ones feeling fleeced. What could have been a decent meal and evening out turned out to leave a bad taste in our gut.

hubby and I had the filet mignon with béarnaise - deep fried brussel sprouts - not so good and probably would be better steamed . Food was good but waaaaay over priced. Boodles in Madison Heights has a great Chateau Briand for two.

Went to Sterling's Bistro on a Friday night around 10 p.m. I was surprised at how dead it seemed considering they were open til midnight. However, I wasn't complaining, more attention at our table. Any who, we were seated immediately. (Note to women wearing heels/men wearing dress shoes: They wax their floors with TOO much wax! Had on 5 inch heels & was afraid to walk normally because the floor was SO slippery! Be careful)...now back to regularly scheduled programming....Our server came promptly & he was very pleasant & personable. He knew the menu well when we asked questions about it. We were satisfied with all of our food (the blackened Mahi Mahi was REALLY good), that includes the drinks & desesrts for me. I'd definitely go back again.

Great service, good wine list (love 9 oz option), complimentary hot bread with tomato balsamic sauce. Group of four - one ordered sushi & loved it, two ordered wild berry salmon & loved it. One said "best I've ever had." I thought it was more of a barbecue flavor than berry, but it was very tasty salmon. I had the 7 oz filet, medium, and it was excellent. Cooked perfectly and great flavor from wood fire stove. We all loved the dinner, will be back soon.

Like other folks, I just kick myself when I realize that it took me so long to find this place. It sits in the location that use to be Fish Bones, and since I hated that place, I guess I held it against them. After reading Yelp reviews (thanks guys) I gave it a chance, and it is now our go-to place for a special meal in Macomb. The first impression you get is the bar/waiting area. Like most restaurants on Hall Road, if you go on the weekend, you are going to wait. What makes this place different is the way they treat the folks that are waiting. There are lovely leather chairs and sofas for you to relax in while you enjoy a cocktail and wait for your table. Last time we were there, my husband said he was actually disappointed that we were seated so quickly, as we were so relaxed sitting and waiting for our table. The restaurant is lovely and lively. I love the look of the wine bottles to decorate and warm the room. Now, on to the food. I often have the Braised Beef Short Ribs which are served over a Pappardelle Pasta. Although I am not a big fish fan (trying to eat more for my health), I tried the Chilean Sea Bass on my last visit, and it was the best fish entree I have ever eaten anywhere. My husband always gets the Prime Rib and moans pretty much through every bite. If you are looking for a local place, that offers a unique and special menu, you will be happy you gave this place a chance.

Why did it take us so long to try this place?!? So delicious. I started my dinner with a Signature martini, dirty, which comes with Grey Goose and your choice of olives. It was $9, but it was HUGE! I had the short ribs which were perfectly seared then braised til falling apart with a delicious sauce/gravy. They were served over perfectly al dente egg pasta and roasted veggies. My dining companions said their entrees were awesome - I'd have loved to try a bite, but I was too busy cleaning my own plate. It was a perfect amount of food for me, and I'd rate that a 5, hands down. Service was left a bit to be desired - took a while to get our drinks, forgot to fill up our waters a few time, etc. - but I hate to knock down the overall rating from a 5 because it wasn't *that* bad. My husband and I spent about $80 before tip, which included my short ribs, his scallops, two martinis and two glasses of wine (aka $36 worth of alcohol). Not cheap, but worth it. We'll be back!

Not impressed. When we came in it was pretty busy so I was hoping for more. Food was so mediocre. The only highlight was the "exotic cheese plate". The melted Brie with raspberry was so good. The cheddar cheese ball for pepper was ok. Blue cheese stuffed olives were ok. None of these would be called exotic in my opinion. Btw it was a long wait to get our appetizer in the first place. Not to mention getting seated. Had the blackened ribeye with jalapeño polenta. Hubby had the oak filet. Both was just blah. Underwhelmed. We joked that we should have just gone to the outback for better steaks. I regretted not getting the sea bass instead. By that time, I was already full, annoyed... Decided to end it. Will not come back. Nothing special. Confused as why it was so crowded.

Had a good meal here. Food was very good. The service wasn't the best but it was semi busy. For the price I just expected a little better service. That doesn't mean I won't go back. I think I need to see how the service is next time I go.

Came here for father's day lunch. Didn't know what to expect. I just wanted a Prime Rib. First off, it's a little dark in there. I get that's the mood they're trying to set, but man...it's one darker shade away from a blacklight rave. So when you arrive, you get bread bites and tomato sauce. Really good and pretty different. I have to agree with Brent R. on this one. We ordered the Goat Cheese Fondue, very good...I would've liked more chips with it, but very nice starter. I ordered the prime rib and it was great...the Tiger Sauce, which is creamy horseradish is a nice alternative complement than just simple horseradish and also works well with the au jus. the Smashed Potatoes that came with were also great, and the vegetables were just the right small enough portion that it wouldn't throw off your meat attack. The only thing I wish they did was probably offer alternative sides or just a list of side dishes so you can add to your entree. All of the entrees had fixed sides, so maybe some substitutions or something different offered would be a nice option. But it is definitely a nice place and a nicer dining alternative than the chain restaurants around the Lakeside Mall area. Will definitely come back again and try some of the other dishes.

My oh my, I don't know why it took so long for my wife and I to go here! It is expensive but it sure is worth every penny we spent. I had the Prime Rib dinner, it had several shrimp with it and a great mashed potato with what I believe the server said was spinach and I really loved the whole meal. However my 4 year old daughter did not like her mac and cheese, but she sure did enjoy my Prime Rib and my wife's Chilean Sea Bass.

Went there for happy hour today with friends, we got a glass of wine and a couple of cocktails. Then we ordered out appetizers and entrees together. Expecting our appetizer to come out first because we specified that it was an appetizer. Well, our entrees came out first, which is something I would let slide, it's not the servers fault...most of the time. But when we brought it up that we still have not gotten our appetizer, it seemed he had forgotten to ring that in. After 15 minutes, and half way done with my entree, the appetizer came out. The server didn't say anything, didn't ask if we needed drink refills even though our cocktails and wine glasses were empty. He proceeded to ignore our table completely. We sat with empty plates and glasses in front of us for 30 minutes before he even came back around to offer dessert. And after he dropped off the dessert menu he disappeared again for 20 minutes. We finally caught him and asked for our bill. Paid and left. The restaurant itself seems nice, the food was fine and the drinks were great. Not too impressed with our server. He might of been having an off night.

I meet a group of friends here occasionaly for dinner and we are all pleased each time. The prices are a little on the higher side, but nothing that would stop me from going. The service is always impeccable, they are very accomodating of our group and we never feel rushed to leave, as we sometimes chat for hours.

The place is awesome! For the price point and what you get its a awesome restaurant. I went on my Dad's B-Day he got a free meal because it was his B-day yes FREE on your B-DAY!! Its got a real nice ambiance to the restaurant. Its got a open layout with real nice touches throughout. Its only of those type of places where its nice but not soo high end that you need a suit and tie to feel comfortable at. As far as dinner my dad got a nice piece of Prime Rib, it was on a Thursday so they had like a seafood special thats what I got. Mine came with 2 pieces of grilled fish, grilled shrimp and a crab cake for like $14.00-$15.00? but it was a ton of food! Nothing overly cooked which is tricky sometimes with grilled seafood. The crab cake was the standout on my plate nice and rich lots of crab. His prime rib was cooked med rare perfectly he really enjoyed his plate. I been there like 3 times its been great each time my only complaint was desert I ordered the bread pudding one time was really unimpressive, but would definitely recommend this restaurant in a heart beat!... :)

I frequent this place for their great happy hour - $5 grey goose martinis are the best and the happy hour food is tasty. The food is pretty good as well but would recommend happy hour over dinner.

Sterling's Bistro made my Couple's nite- out special. I had the roasted chicken and my wife had the white fish which was the Chef's recommendation, both were very well prepared. I'm sorry to say we did not get a chance to experience the dessert =-( I would definitely recommend this place to family and friends.

My friends and I happened to be looking for a place to eat lunch when we found Sterling Bistro. Based off the Yelp reviews, we decided to have lunch. We were not disappointed. It was a late lunch around 2 pm so the restaurant was fairly empty. We were seated right away and our waitress was extremely friendly. I really enjoyed the retro bottles of water that were left at the table. The warm bread and marinara was also quite good. The four of us all ordered something different and we were all satisfied.

This restaurant is set in a cozy, low-lit atmosphere, with great food for prices in the 15 to 30 dollar range. We ate here for our 6th anniversary and loved the food. My wife ordered the Boursin-stuffed filet minon and I had the prime rib. Both were cooked to perfection, and we're flavorful and juicy. The mashed potatoes served on the side were a little bland and could've used some spice to enhance their flavor. I will definately eat here again.

I gotta hand it to the under the radar Sterling's Bistro, they beat my expectations for what you can get in the Lakeside Mall area. The first thing I noticed was that they didn't bring the standard bread and butter to the table once you put in your order, they brought out warm bread bites to dip into a nice sweet tomato sauce. I really liked this as it felt like you were getting a little more than just the same old thing. The second thing I noticed is that they brought out the large bottle of water to fill your glasses and then left it on the table in case you wanted some more without having to flag down the server. This is something I have seen at upscale places, it is a nice touch at Sterling's and definitely was something I noticed and made the experience even better. On to the food... I ordered the Prime Rib since I had read good things about it, it was very good and the au jus and horseradish sauce really topped it off. The (s)mashed potatoes that came with my dinner were just as good, perhaps even better than the prime rib, considering I am not a huge mashed potatoes fan. They had spinach mixed in and were slightly chunky, they were great. The squash that was served with the meal was also very good, lightly seasoned and not too mushy. My wife ordered the scallops and lobster bisque soup. The bisque was one of the best I have had, even compared to seafood restaurants, it was the perfect amount of lobster and cream. Her scallops were pretty solid, they came with an almost crab cake-like topping on each one and it differentiated it from other scallops I have had before. Bottom Line... I REALLY like what Sterling's is doing, giving you great food without breaking the bank and making it feel like an upscale restaurant, even in the Lakeside Mall parking lot!

It's taken awhile but this place is finally getting it. Nice decor, nothing over the top but nice to be in. They have some great appetizers (firecracker shrimp) and a number of good entrees Luv the jambalaya :) both food and drink prices are in the ballpark. Only issue would be with the spotty service. Had servers too busy jackassing around with each other instead of taking care of customers. Hopefully that was an isolated issue rather than the norm. We'll be back:)

Went here with a party of 8, 2 nights ago. I can't have gluten so I got a gluten free menu. At first glance it looked great but when I really looked at it, it was the weirdest gluten free menu I have ever seen. You literally end up with a slab of meat or fish with NO seasoning, served with some vegetables and rice with NO seasonings. I told the waitress I don't want bland food. Her answer was " can you have salt and pepper"? What an idiot. I got the salmon salad which was a joke, a piece of salmon (3x4cm) on a bed of lettuce and 4 strawberries, cut into halves. This is not good dining by any stretch of the imagination. Sad.

Nice place. The food was very good. Nice menu selection. Waiter was friendly. The only negative thing I would say is it is a bit over priced. Even though the food was really good, the food and atmosphere didn't quite match the price.

After waiting for a hour and a half, the hostess must have forgot about us, they were seating people that came in we'll after us first. Luckily the food was good and the service was prompt. Would try it again.

tl;dr They should take some stars away from other places and let this one have ten. Ten stars. Ten. Food: To me, the most important thing about a restaurant is the food. After all, good service, great atmosphere and a good price doesn't go far if the chef takes a crap on the plate. This place nailed it in every way. Local joint's don't usually get "presentation". The food presentation was on par with any exceptionally expensive five star black-tie smug $350 steak house. The food quality was on par with the presentation. The quantity of food was excellent. The price was barking unbelievable when stacked against these factors. This was a surprise, especially after having an explanation of what a "Mash of the Day" is, and precisely what said "Mash of the Day" contained. They managed to mash up a bunch of vegetables that seemed like they should never be put together on the same plate, let alone pasted together with potatoes, and on top of that, make me love it. I ordered a chef special, Filet with Maine Lobster on top. I broke rule #5 of eating like a man. I call this the "Don't screw with my steak" rule and it goes something like this: When I purchase a filet, I want a tender, rare, nice filet with no sauce or silliness accompanying it. I bought the filet because I wanted to taste a recently slaughtered COW, nothing else. I want it fresh. I want it rare. And I don't want the chef to screw with it with some sort of creativity learned in some french academy. It's steak. I'm a man. Don't try to improve it with sauce. So when I saw the sauce that I couldn't identify, and the lobster lumped on top, despite the wonderful presentation, a part of me cursed myself for having ordered it knowing full well what I would receive. Then I took a bite. This was one of the best tasting things to ever be put on a plate. I ordered the steak rare because I'm an animal rights advocate. I'm going to eat that cow, but it should be alive enough to get the opportunity to taste me, too. It's only fair. It was seared perfectly, yet the center was exactly right for a rare steak (essentially, red, bloody, raw, delicious). It was easily in the top 5 of the best things I have ever eaten. Atmosphere: It's a bit loud when their busy. The layout of the restaurant won't lend itself greatly to an intimate evening out with your bride if you're looking for a quiet place where you feel like you should be whispering. It was a pretty typical noise level. I wondered before my bride and I embarked on our journey if we could ever take our kids to this place. After going there, I'd be comfortable taking my children and many folks did, in fact, have their children there. Service: We had been waited on by a very new waitress. She didn't have all of the "technique" down. This was only noticed because the food was so good, it seemed like we should have received the service you'd get at a place where dinner for two ends up in the $350 price range. Despite not being perfect at technique, she was incredibly friendly and attentive. She was there to refill our glasses of wine when they were low. She checked in on us from time to time to make sure we were enjoying our meal. In a way, it was almost a quirk of the place. When you get the "high on technique" wait-staff, it's can cut both ways and make the experience impersonal. In addition, the manager (or perhaps owner?) came by to check in on us a few times. This was a nice touch. Drinks: I like a small wine list that only has "good wine" (as in, wine I can't just go pick up at Rite-Aid for 1/4 the price). I prefer this approach because I'm *not* a wine snob (I buy wine at Rite-Aid). I know a few names here and there, but if you give me a book with three hundred wines, I'm going to look for the one that is the second least expensive and buy it. They had a wine I recognized from one of the other steak houses (that $350 dinner place), at half the price I paid for it there. It was wonderful. After dinner, my bride opted to get dessert (which was awesome). I'm not a dessert guy and I wasn't driving, so I opted for an after dinner drink. My drink of choice is always B&B. The bartender didn't know what that was (is it really that obscure? I've ordered a B&B at a Japanese steak house where the staff barely spoke English and they had it). That was disappointing, however, it was made up for by the fact that the bartender was knowledgeable about the products they did carry. I described the flavor, she pulled out a shot glass and poured a few drops of something into it to sample and I was satisfied. It wasn't B&B, but it was the next best thing.

Delicious food in a simple, classy setting without any pretense. I'm a big fan of Sterling's Bistro. Their menu is a dynamic cross-section of steakhouse standards comfort food classics and brewpub favorites. Their Chicken Pot Pie is one of the best meals I've eaten in recent memory, so definitely give it a try. As if the food wasn't enough to rave about, the staff and atmosphere are even better. The host staff, servers and management are all friendly to the point where you'd suspect corrective shock collars were embedded in them. Both the bar and dining room are tastefully decorated in local fare, but not in the gimmicky Applebee's-type way. I also like the idea of the water carafe at the table, so you don't have to bother your server (not like they'd make you feel like a bother) every time you want a refill. Overall, Sterling's Bistro has carefully and thoroughly planned out every detail. Great food, great staff, great surroundings and surprisingly reasonable prices. You will not be disappointed.

Went to Sterling's Bistro for Christmas Eve dinner. We were greeted and seated. Our server Kathleen C. was fantastic. I credit her for working Christmas Eve, she made the evening bright and cheerful. My wife and I both had the Wild Berry Salmon with Fire Roasted Vegetables. Both were very tasty and we highly recommend the wild berry salmon.

For the prices I expected much better. The fiancee and I went in on a thursday night expecting to spend $65-70 or so on a decent meal. We both had the small filets, one appetizer, split a side salad, split dessert; I had 2 beers she had a tall pour of wine. Our bill was over $100. Partly due to the fact that the 'upcharge' to have grilled asparagus on my plate instead of the grilled veg medley was $6! I found that OUTRAGEOUS. The asparagus wasnt even that good. The food was meh, not bad but nothing to write home about. The atmosphere was, however, nice and romantic. Thats about the only thing they have going for them. One more gripe. the menu was outdated and many items I inquired about were no longer being offered, most notably the bread pudding. For the kind of money we spent on dinner we could have stayed close to home and dined at the Rochester Chop House and had a superb meal. Dont bother with this place unless someone insists on going, and if you do, watch the bill for nickel and dime upcharges.

WOW this place, I've been 4-5 times now and everytime I try something new because the food is so good. The brickoven pizzas, the appetizers, the salads...I can't say enough. One critic wrote that this is a mom and pop place, although it is not. It has a very cozy atmosphere and is decorated quite nice. We always sit in the bar area and it is dimly lit. It feels like you are in a fancy restaurant! I was glad that we tried this place because the line at Red Lobster was so long. Now we go straight to Sterlings, never a line to get in. I'm crossing my fingers that people try this place - you won't regret.

Went here on a whim because andiamo's was a hour+ wait!! Our server was friendly and always had our water filled. He also had no problem modifying our food to our liking. My boyfriend and I got the special of the day for $12.99. We got the seafood trio which included whitefish, crab cake (which were AWESOME with some tasty slaw on top of them) and shrimp done a couple different ways. It has a delicious sauce on top of it. I am a huge water drinker so I thought it was a cute little touch that they give you your own water bottle to pour from. The atmosphere was really great also!

A huge improvement over the prior tenant, Bonefish Grille! Today was my first visit and every aspect from food to service was spot on. My only concern is the long term viability of this establishment as the price point of this restaurant is not conducive to the the typical Macomb County budget. I hope I'm wrong and look forward to my next meal there.

Came here for lunch last Sunday with my husband and 22 month old. I wouldn't take my son again bc it was a nice place and not really for kids in my opinion although they did have high chairs and there were a couple of elementary age kids there. Good food, good service, great decor. I had the chicken sandwich and my husband had the bow-tie pasta w/chicken, my son had mac and cheese w/fries. Bread basket was good and so was the marinara that it was served with. My extremely fussy son liked it! We ordered the tuna sushi shots and those were delish. I will try the sushi next time, it looked good but the chicken sandwich consisted of all my fave ingredients: grilled chicken, bacon, cheddar YUM!

Food is good. Not great, but still very good. For an upscale steak house I much prefer the Morton's and Ruth Chris for the same price. The service here is just plain lousy, which is why I will drive to Troy instead of here. Maybe someday they will get it. The Shelby Township area is trying to be upscale like Bloomfield or Birmingham, but has a very long way to go.

My wife and I went to dinner for our wedding anniversary. The service was attentive but not intrusive. The wine list was diverse and not too expensive. We both ordered the lamb chops. Cooked to perfection and delicious. Bumpy Cake for dessert was shared. We will definitely go back.

Really struggled with what to rate this restaurant. My first time there for lunch the food and service were fantastic and this time for lunch either the server thought I can't read a menu and he could lie rather than admitting he made a mistake or they really need to coordinate changing over their menu all I know is the second lunch there makes me think I won't go back. First time for lunch waiter brings out the fantastic bread we started with the meatball lollipops that I'd heard so much about and they were delicious. Then for my lunch I had the Prime Rib sliders and my sister ordered the Chicken Flatbread pizza. When we got our entrees the presentation on my sliders was so cute I almost had to take a picture and the taste was out of this world. The Chicken Flatbread pizza was also great and the taziki on the pizza was a great touch. When I left all I could do was rave about how fantastic it was and how I couldn't imagine anyone wanting to go to any of the chains up and down Hall Road when this gem was nearby. Today the second lunch, not great. No bread, okay no big deal I didn't need it anyways but it makes me wonder if either the restaurant or the server are cutting corners. Ordered the prime rib sliders and then said I'll start with the garden salad. The lunch menu I had clearly says that the sliders come with fries and a ginger slaw and that if you want a garden salad there is a $3 charge, no problem. Salad comes- fantastic garden salad with tons of carrots, nice mixture of lettuces in the salad instead of just romaine or horrible iceberg lettuce. Server brings out the sliders and it's just sliders, nothing else when I say I thought it comes with fries he says "they changed the menu and the fries only comes with the dinner." Who orders sliders for dinner there when there is wealth of amazing entrees for dinner? He comes out with some fries a few minutes later and says "we haven't rolled out the new menu so I brought you out some fries". Ya think since that is clearly what it says on the menu that I handed you less than one hour ago!! Forget even fighting about cole slaw, I consider it a waste of time. I'm sure the food was good this time but I was so ticked at the service I just wanted to go and consider this trip a bust. Once he did bring my check what do I see he charges me full price for the garden salad ($6 for a garden salad please). So either the restaurant needs to get their act together and coordinate changing over their menus so that servers are ringing up what is on the menu that is being passed out or the server thinks I have no short term memory and forgot what I just read. If the server made a mistake then own up to it and the whole thing would have been fine and if the hostess passed out the wrong menu then what is the big deal in charging the customer for what they expected to pay for when they ordered. All in all I couldn't go lower than a three star because the food is too delicious and different to knock it down lower because of what I consider bad service. In my opinion this restaurant did deserve to be named one of the Best New Restaurants by the Free Press and it is really nice to be able to support good locally owned companies but in the future I will think twice about going there for lunch or dinner.

Not bad my friends. You can definitely eat some good food here. I had the house salad, and the scallops for dinner and they were very good. The service was very good, I had Lisa and she was awesome. I was a bit skeptical, but it turned out to be a great treat for myself.

The food is great but service is always sub par. The last time we were here, the told us the wait was an hour. I said no problem, my wife ram over to the store and i went and got a drink from the cocktail waitress. She was great and pleasant. Then they called my name. So i told the host its only been five minutes and my wife ran to the store. Why don't you skip us? She said no that was okay. So they took me to a table where i literally sat for twenty minutes without anyone even acknowledging me. The whole time, the manager is walking around in circles doing nothing. Finally when the waitress came over she apologized and told us she was brand new. We had a great bottle of wine and great food as always. We will be back many times but the service needs to get much better.

We have been coming here for quite a while now. Sometimes 3 or 4 in one month. Don't get me wrong, the food is quite good for the reasonable prices. However, the menu never changes and I realize there isn't much to chose from. They use the same sauces on different entrees. As well as the veggie/coleslaw. It would he nice to have a feature entree every now and again. Something different and new. Also, an older gentleman who is either the owner or the manager, walks around and greets people and its a shame he doesn't realize how often we frequent his establishment by recognizing us or at the very least say hello. Week by week, he always seems to bypass us. We have had the same waitress at least 3 times and she too doesn't seem to acknowledge us as regular customers and welcome us back. The only person who does so is the wonderful hostess at the door. For only two people, we always spend well over $150...cocktails, appetizers, entrees and take come dessert and a sizable tip. This will be the last time in a long time. I'd rather spend my money where my customer loyalty is appreciated. The one star rating is based more on customer service but the lack of variety in the menu also doesn't help.

Excellent food... great service... wonderful specialty cocktails. The atmosphere was great - love the romantic feeling the decor invokes. A little more expensive than the Olive Garden or Applebee's but completely worth it. My husband had the steak and I went for the sea bass. Both were cooked to perfection. I highly recommend the lobster bisque! Dinner for two plus alcohol ran us $80, but it was $80 well spent.

Hands down *The* best restaurant in Macomb county. Best service (especially in the bar area) Best prices (for what you are served) Best Food: every dish is thoughtfully executed and presented. Think "somewhere between J. Alexander's and Capital Grille, with the prices of an Olive Garden". Amazing martinis and they are very reasonably priced. If there is a better 'date night' restaurant in the area, I haven't seen it. The decor is upscale without being pretentious. Great happy hour specials, as well. Try Sterling's. They understand what it takes to establish yourself far above the norm. I have paid 2-3 times more for meals that aren't half as memorable. Try the goat cheese fondue, the scallops or the short rib. Freaking amazing!

What a nice place to visit. Everything was great, from the hostess to the waitstaff to the food and price. How nice to have another upscale restaurant in the northern macomb county area. There are several things that impressed me. First of all the decor is modern and gave an upscale feel. We stopped and had a drink at the bar prior to heading into the dining room for dinner. The bartender was very polite and got our wine quickly at happy hour pricing. We were then seated by a very nice hostess. Looking over the menu you'll see a nice variety of choices at reasonable prices. I had the filet and it was perfect. Everyone in our party thought their food was excellent. You need to give this place a try. What an enjoyable evening. We will definately go back.

Gruyere mac & cheese was divine. It was creamy and smokey. Bistro salad left much to be desired. I sent back the apple vinaigrette and was given freshly made balsamic vinaigrette instead, which was much better. Service was very good. Our waiter was very attentive.

After reading the good reviews for this place we decided to try it. The food and service was completely amazing....especially for the area. Our waiter was Jerry and was the best waiter we've ever had. The management should feel lucky to have found this guy & I hope they treat him well. We started off with the artichoke dip which was very good. We then had the lobster bisque and french onion soup both were excellent. Now to the best part...the miso glazed Sea Bass. This dish is simply perfect! My husband ordered the prime rib but kept trying to eat off my plate. It was the best piece of fish either of us have ever had. We've been to most of the top places in the metro area and this meal is close to the top. We finished off with the raspberry creme brulee also very good. The only complaint I have is that the menu is small and does not offer enough shellfish, but that's just my personal favorite. Anyway, I hope to return soon and wish this place lots of luck.

We found Sterling Bistro quite by accident. Mother's Day is not the day to go to Red Lobster, but that is what Mom wanted. That is until we got there and were told it was and hour and a half wait. 1.5 hours with no place to sit down(Mom is handicapped) and I don't wait 1.5 hours at a chain restaurant with below average food. We decided to try Sterling Bistro since it was close and looked from the outside like a decent place. Appearances are deceiving, this place is beyond decent, it very very nice. I expected a big bill for dinner for 5 of us, but not so, the prices are beyond reasonable for the upscale decor and the food. Yes the food, the meat and potatoes of any review, it was excellent. Not a huge menu, but enough variety for everyone to find a few entrees that sounded good. And good it was. My daughter had the Whitefish, loved it. I had a Seafood dish that is not listed on the menu anymore, but was delicious, fish shrimp and cajun veggies in a light spicy sauce. I'm going to miss it. Hubby had the Wildberry Salmon and loved it. Mom and Dad both enjoyed the Rib Eye. All in all a pleasant dining experience, good food reasonable prices and excellent service.

I read the other reviews (overwhelmingly positive) and agree with many of the points made after our first visit to Sterlings. It's got a nice atmosphere, friendly waitstaff, great menu options and decent prices. You may wonder why I rated my visit with just two stars .... the food. It looked great, smelled great but some dishes tasted funny. I don't know if we just caught things on an off night or if the refrigeration wasn't working properly, but the polenta with my steak tasted "fermented" (strong, sharp and bitter). The grilled vegetables were burnt on the bottom (which you couldn't see until you ate them and turned them over). The steak (ribeye) was pretty good, so I focussed on that and let the rest go back with my waiter who asked if I wanted it wrapped (I did not). I have had "intestinal issues" since last evenings dinner which DO NOT rise to level of food poisoning but are very unpleasant none-the-less and seem directly related to what I ate. I really had high hopes as 1) we need more good restaurants in this area and 2) we were celebrating our 25th anniversary. I may give them another try to see if we just had an "off", random experience ... but not until the memory of stomach significantly wears off.

My wife and friends enjoyed the atmosphere, the food and the service very much! The food was just right, from the shrimp appetizers to the Prime rib, end cut I ordered. Very stylish and a great feel to the whole experience. We suggested to a bunch of people the next day, as well as my wife's mom and dad, who are always picky restaurant people. Prices where not that out of reach for a nice, simple evening out. We will be back very soon!!!

overall, great restaurant---- compared to Morton's- its like a 3.5 to 4.... but still excellent food, and we went for lunch! we got the steak tip appetizer, that was really good. but we also got the crab and shrimp cakes-- that was awesome!!!!! then for lunch, I got prime rib... it came with a zip sauce on the side, mashed potatoes, and a veggie mix--- it was really good. The meat was great and prepared medium. My husband ate blackened chicken pasta, came with asparagus and peppers--- that was amazing too! But best of all, was the chocolate mousse cake dessert- a must have. We are gonna go back to eat their famous stuffed filet next time! Restaurant was clean, friendly and fast service, and the atmosphere was really great!

My husband and I met his cousin and wife for dinner here because it was closer to their house. I of course read the yelpers reviews and thought this place would be perfect. We made reservations and after some slight adjustments were seated at an acceptable table, for someone who had made a reservation. We were hungry and ordered right away. Flatbread pesto mozz pizza for the group and for me whitefish 3 salads for everyone else a special or two and prime rib. The foods, (save the pizza) all came at one time Salad and entrees. The one item that should have come first maybe with the salad didn't come at all (the pizza). The manager came over when we told the expeditor that the pizza was missed and said he would take the pizza we never got off our bill. He gave us 2 comp cards for future pizza. The food was mediocre and luke warm at best. We felt hawked to be done but yet only once were we asked if we wanted another drink. Once our bill was paid we never saw our waitress again. I got the flatbread pizzas to go since I will probably never be going back. Everyone agreed.

My husband and I just had dinner here and it was excellent. Food is wonderful, staff are friendly and very attentive. We went here because we had a Groupon but we will be back.

I thought this place had the best food ever. The staff was very observant and friendly. I recommended Sterling to my brother for his anniversary and he absolutely loved it!!

Decent place. The hostesses seat their friends ahead of you and then pencil them in as if they had a reservation... I watched and listened to the whole conversation as it happen in front of me. I brought it to managements attention and we were offered a free appetizer, which we declined because the issue was with the hostess not the kitchen. I'm pretty sure nothing happened to the hostess as we saw her whispering and laughing to her friends shortly after. Have tried this place twice and the food is nothing special and it is expensive for what you get. No soups or salads are included with your entree. The prime rib sliders I had were fatty and lacked flavor; my girlfriend ordered the blackened chicken pasta and the chicken had gristle pieces in almost every bite. With that being said the wine selection is good and the wait staff is very quick and polite. Will not return.

I'm sorry to Sterling's Bistro for driving past you for the past few years without giving you a try... I always assumed it was a chain and/or was a place similar to a Bar Louie's (given its logo similarities)... now that that's out of the way, any stalker who reads my Yelp reviews tends to know I'm selective with five-stars for places, but Sterling's Bistro seems to do just about everything right and very little -- if anything -- wrong: above average waiting service, exceptional atmosphere, and delicious food... all for an actually surprisingly reasonable price (psh, easy for me to say, I didn't pay...). But honestly, the price doesn't seem to quite match the quality, and the ambiance seems fancier than the price of the food. I'm rambling... I got the lobster bisque and Chilean sea bass (because of Yelp's suggestion), and then also tried the volcano roll, fried brussels sprouts, french onion soup, and a bit of the on-special New York Strip. The lobster bisque was pretty easily the best bisque I've had. Now, I haven't had a piss load of bisques in my life, but I've had a few. This was served at a good temperature, it wasn't loaded-with-cream thick, and it wasn't poured over salt cubes... additionally, the bit of sherry on top with some lobster bits was a nice touch. I had a tiny bit of lobster shell in one of the pieces, but I can overlook that pretty easily because the soup was SO DAMN GOOD! As for the volcano roll... well, eesh, the rolls were massive. I looked like a fool trying to eat the rolls in one bite. I managed, but you should *probably* cut them in half. The roll was presented nicely, and had a perfect amount of heat. The brussels sprouts are $8, but the plate of them you get is pretty huge. I hadn't had brussels sprouts before, but thought they were really good -- kind of like a combination of asparagus and broccoli... maybe cabbage too? I liked them... the balsamic they put on top after frying them is great. The Chilean sea bass was more... delicate than I was expecting, I guess? It actually really worked, because I could actually taste the fish -- why take a nice piece of fish and drown out the flavor of it? The whole plate was great, and I assure you I ate every last morsel... anyone who orders it and doesn't eat the whole thing should feel very, very bad about themself. The bits of french onion soup and the New York Strip that I had were also unsurprisingly delicious. The french onion soup very obviously seemed to have an in-house base, as it didn't have that super salty MSG-y flavor only a good ol' bouillon cube can provide. The New York Strip was cooked as ordered (medium rare) with a great char on it. Now, my mom got A1 sauce to put on it, which is just *wrong* for such a purdy steak, but the fine folk of Yelp know better... right? I'm ashamed it took me so long to try Sterling's Bistro, but I'm glad I finally did, so I have a "kind of fancy but not murder-your-wallet expensive" restaurant to go to sometimes. If I had to say something negative, uh... well, it was a little too warm in the restaurant to the point where it got a bit uncomfortable, and I find it odd that the water is served out of a snap-top glass bottle as if it's some pristine water from the Alps when it tasted like ordinary tap water. Those two little things are ridiculous nitpicks that I had to throw into please people who look for negative in every single review. Alright, review's done. Good closer, eh?

Ate dinner here again the other night. Yeah, they're still awesome! We ordered prime rib and the divers scallops. It was a beautiful cut of prime rib - just the right amount of fat marbling. The divers scallops were amazing! Rich & buttery. Oh, I also confirmed with our server that they do still offer the lobster roll on the lunch menu! I loved that thing

Had a really enjoyable dinner here for my bday. All of the food was very good. Great even. I had prime rib and hubby had filet. Both were delicious. Service was friendly and fast. We had a reservation and our table was ready within 3 minutes of our arrival. It was very nice and would certainly go again.

Have been here many times-and it never disappoints! Favorite is the dragon fire shrimp appetizer and Chilean sea bass. My husband has had all of the steaks/prime rib- all were great. Bacon Mac and cheese has been a hit with our son- it's truly really good! Nice change from all the typical chains in the area- modern, clean, great drinks. The parking lot always looks packed(maybe people meeting for happy hour)but there usually isn't a wait to dine- so don't let that deter you.

It's pretty good. The beef short ribs were succulent. I could cut the nice, fatty beef with my fork. The appetizers were little guinea-sized teases. As were the sides.

I love happy hours. Small plates, drink specials, lovely wines...good atmosphere... This place was right on tap with things that I like... The happy hour options were good..sushi, flat breads, meatball lollipops..haha...okeedokee! Sign this girl UP! My only negative, was the table we were at was uber tiny..with 5 of us, we struggled...happy hour is about socialising and gathering of friends...they need some bigger tables..they did have a large community table..but I was with some out of town guests, and their english was not so good...so maybe next time I'm there I'll sit at the big table!

I've eaten here a few times over the past few years and it's always been really good. Last night I dinner there with friends. We had a hummus appetizer; it was a good, solid hummus garnished with red pepper strips and a delicious blue cheese-stuffed olive. I tried the bistro salad and it was fantastic with a tangy cider vinaigrette. Also had an EBI sushi roll. I was a little hesitant to try the sushi but was glad I did it was sooo good. Loved the coconut topping and spicy sauce on top. I would totally go back and eat that same exact meal again. Service good as well, we were seated right away and the waitress was attentive but not too attentive.

Never had a bad meal here. On our most recent visit we tried the sushi and it was really good. The tuna melted in your mouth! It was great! Will keep stopping in here for sure!

Why would a restaurant offer reservations days in advance and then tell the people who did make reservations there would be a minimum 1 hour wait when they get there??? ON VALENTINES DAY? Whats the point of even making a reservation with specific times if thats the case?? Has to be one of the most poorly managed businesses I've ever been to. I'm not sure how you guys managed to screw up easily one of the most important days for reservation based business in the year. Please do yourselves a favor and train your hostess staff to not tell people that "people are just not moving", just tell people you over booked so we can get on with our lives. Yea, a 1 hour wait really isn't so bad when you think about it, but when you've planned your valentines night a week+ in advance, it's not possible to just sit there and hang out for an hour. So in all, thank you sterlings bistro. You have taught me and my girlfriend that your business is no better managed than our local mcdonalds. Thanks for your "email disclaimer" saying that we were not guaranteed a table (which is BS, I went through all my emails right in front of them) you've lost 2 customers for life, but more importantly you have earned this terrible yelp review. Tl:dr BEWARE! DO NOT RESERVE ANYTHING IN ADVANCE! IF YOU DO IT DOES NOT GUARANTEE YOU A TABLE!

There are many great items to choose from on their menu. I like to order a few appetizers and share. The beef sliders are really really tasty! I like the calamari presentation and flavor very much. Service is always very professional and friendly. They have a very nice wine list as well. I am very happy to see they are doing so well. Every time I go there, they always have a crowd.

We are eating here two nights in a row. Out of towners, he eats meat she only eats veg except for fish. He likes cocktails and she likes nice wine. Neither of them eat a lot of carbs. This fits the bill. The wine list is very nice! Ambience casual upscale. Win!

Always leave happy. Haven't had a bad meal yet. Only criticism I have is the martini glasses are obnoxious. Great drink but the stemware is too much. Still a great place!!

I'd say an overlooked gem in the menagerie of restaurants in and around the Lakeside Mall area. Went there for the first time and I have to say, I was very impressed. First off, I was there at happy hour so drinks and appetizers were half off. Hendricks gin and tonic for $4.00!!! I got the meatball lollypops and what is there not to love about these beauties. Mozzarella stuffed meatballs on a stick with a delicious marinara sauce. Then I ordered the greek flatbread pizza... equally as good! I will be back!!!

We walked in lookigg for something that wasn't a big chain type restaurant. Sterling's had the same sort of feel to it. I was starving so I skipped all the apps and went right to the steak. It came with mashed and some roasted root vegetables. Temperature was right on, but it wasn't exceptionally flavorful. The staff tried hard but it was just a mediocre experience. One person at my table sent his plate back to adjust the temperature and although it was taken care of, there wasn't any comment about not getting it right the first time.

One of the many places that offered a Pre-Christmas Gift Card Bonus $10 for every $50 spent, and the $10 bonus must be redeemed in January 2013, no problem! We have dined here before , but usually avoid every place on or near Hall Rd on a Friday or Saturday Night, but ventured here tonight & waited less than 4 minutes for a cozy booth. Mike was our server, and he was a fine young man , that knew the menu & tonight's specials very well, he started us out with a bottle of there chilled water, no ice, which works for me, and i inquired about the quality of there white sangria & cosmos , he assured me both were great. The Cosmo was okay...but very dry, if you know what I mean.He saw it was not being consumed & swapped it out for a red sangria. which was Great! $5 not to bad! The Bride ordered the Perch Picante Special, with blanched green beans & jasmine rice A+ I ordered the Blackened Ribeye, with green beans & a marvelous sweet potato casserole which was EXCELLENT! Ribeye was cooked medium rare to perfection. They have a gift as , how they prepare , flavor & cut there vegetables here.. Love the uniqueness & presentation of this place & I hope you know about there wonderful Birthday Special!

Great Happy Hour specials. One of my favorites is their Ebi sushi roll, at first I was a bit skeptical about ordering sushi here, didn't seem to match the rest of the menu, but so glad I did. The service has always been friendly and professional. The drinks are not your typical drinks, which I totally love. Not only are they beautiful, but are nice alternatives to your standards. Other things we love, Goat Cheese Fondue, Braised Short Ribs and Paella Valencia.

Restaurant was pretty good, although they didn't seem to do too well with a busy dining room. We had reservations for 4 at 7:45 on Saturday night. We were seated around 8:15 and didn't see a waitress until 8:30. The hostess and our waitress were very friendly; however, it felt like everything took 10-15 minutes longer than it should...yes accounting for how busy they were. Food was excellent, so we'll be back with the hopes that it was just an off night. We had the shrimp app, it was fantastic. I had a volcano roll which was huge and very good. Others had surf and turf (average short ribs, good scallops), NY Strip, and Scallops. Those two meals were said to be very good.

So I was looking for a steak place that wasn't too far out and there were a few options, but I hadn't been here before and was dissuaded from going back to Brann's. Good move. Mind you, after reading some of the other reviews, if you think this place is mid-range price, you are looking at $30-40 a copy for an entree, so don't say you weren't warned. There is an Outback Steakhouse across the street (ahem). Place is casual with a happening bar scene and the dining room was about half full. We had Anthony as our waiter and he was on point. Knew his beer, knew his product, knew when to bug us and knew when to let us be. They have Oberon here on tap. Appetizer we went with was the Dragon Shrimp and they were tempura battered and covered with a sweet, zippy sauce. Very good, light as a cloud. So I got the Noble (10oz) Cut Fillet Mignon with the Lobster Topping and it was cooked Medium Rare and just right. With a Fillet, you always get it a bit more done on the ends than in the middle, but just in the center you get that one perfect bite, and it was right where it should be. Good form. Lots o' Lobster on top of the Steak along with what seemed to be a Hollandaise Sauce that went great with the Wasabi Mash and Asparagus. Honestly I took a picture, but without a flash, you couldn't see anything, so trust me, it was nice. Speaking of ambiance, check out the tin sculpture separating the dining room from the bar area, its the plant monster from 'The Little Shop of Horrors'! Feed me Seymour, Feed me!

Been here twice. The first time was 5 stars, amazing. The second time 3 stars, so I give them an average of 4. The crusty bread they bring is awesome. The Cajun chicken pasta I ordered was flavorless. The blue cheese potato chips were unique and great. Maybe we had an off experience the second time, but it left us uncertain if we'll be back to give it another chance.

Excellent service and the food will not disappoint. Chlian sea bass was like butter. Didn't need to chew it just melted in your mouth. Wednesday is half of on bottles of wine.
